These polyens are based off of numerous effigies that range from the 1340s to 1380s and while much more popular in eastern Europe (Germany, Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Switzerland, etc...), there are examples as far west as Hereford, England.
These in particular were based off the effigy of Albrecht des Schonen.

There are made of .048" (~18ga) 1050 "spring" steel, have been hardened and tempered and heat colored to a rich brass (which can be removed, if prefered.) The straps have been vinegarooned for their black color and the buckles hand done.
Asking 150$+shipping

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle

These are crazy gorgeous. I don't suspect these are sized appropriately for someone with bad/swollen knees and legs like tree trunks, are they?

measure across your knee and let me know what the measurement is , and I will size them to match, as long as they are not too big

Measurement around and behind. Yeah, my knee really is that big. My current (fully functional, but not as pretty) soupcan knees work as a pair of helmets for some people.

Unfortunately, that is too large. These are 12" around and can be from about 4.5"-5.5" across.
I have to say though...nice legs!
