Well, it looks like I may need to sell my suit of armour... it's a full kit, though I won't be selling my helmet - no WAY I'm parting with THAT!.



I'm looking for advice though - most of the time when I'm selling things, I just kinda have a price in my head that I think is fair and ask for that - I don't ever like selling anything for more then I paid for it. However, selling my full suit is something a: I really don't want to do and b: somthing i really HAVE to do for the money. So I kinda need to get as much as I can for it

So the question is - how do I sell it? Is is better to post the thing in pieces, or all at once? Sell it here, or try and sell it on e-bay? The suit is compliled of a lot of different armourers work, and then it's been modified - The suit is blacked now, and the original armour store arms and legs have been fairly well modified... almost making them into nice pieces

Help?

Since it isn't integrated, I'd suggest selling it piece by piece on ebay for the best price. Put good measurements on each piece. You should get a better price because the guy who REALLY wants your arms may not want your legs because you're taller than him and the guy who REALLY wants your legs may not want your gorget because he's 100 pounds heavier than you and thus has a thicker neck and so on.

The only real advantge of selling it as a kit is that you only have 1 transaction to deal with when it's all said and done. And of course if it's "a set" then the buyer gets a fully functional kit that goes together. That second not being the case and given that you want the most cash, I'd sell it piece by piece. Just my buck three eighty.

Think there will be any problem with the fact that the stuff is blued?

I guess the new owner COULD take the bluing off - which would suck, considering how much effort I put into it!

I'd say the blueing adds to the coolness factor.

One thing that might help is to let people know who the individual pieces were made by.

Well, looks like I'm going to sell it.

Question for everyone... since pensic (sp?) has just finished, is this really a good time to sell my armour, or should I try and wait for another month or two? I'm just curious, since most people who would be in the market for my kit might be a little cash-lite at the moment...

Compare the after pennsic armor market to the prices of things during boxing week. Basically people are lookin for stuff that's dirt cheap as far as I know.

If you can hold off to close to Christmas like late November to mid December you'll get a better price. People do tend to buy stuff for christmas.
