This review is for the etched clam shell type gauntlets.

I'm not a very wordy person, but I had to come speak on this armor.
First off, these may be the most AWESOME looking gauntlets I have ever seen.
Secondly, on the topic of manufacturing time and delivery. I placed my order in late march, and knew it could take 8 plus weeks with the creation and shipping of these, since they were custom made to my size. Well, right around 4 weeks after I ordered them, I contacted Mike with a question, to which he promptly responded "Well, I would check, but they are scheduled to be delivered today" and gave me a tracking number. Sure as hell, I check it and they were delivered out that very day. Less than HALF the expected wait time.
They fit like.. well, they fit like a glove. I have one strap that I need to remove and shorten when I find some matching rivets, but considering most gauntlets I've ever purchaced didn't even come strapped, that is hardly an issue.
Details: I was very pleasantly surprised thet they came so nicely strapped AND they had the brass, cast medieval replica buckles on them too, not a craft store $3 buckle.
I cannot recommend Armstreet enough. I will be ordering the matching arms within the next week or so, as soon as my funds catch back up.

TL;DR: I was blown away by the excellent quality and speedy service!

Question

How is the thumb coverage when gripping rattan weapons? From the pics it looks like the thumb will be left a bit exposed to nasty whacks.

The thumbs on these are fully covered. and it grounds out well. Once I put a glove on, the leather basket on the thumb fit just tight enough to hold it all securely in place. The only thing I am lacking on is that when I hold the rattan, the clam shell doesn't close down all the way, which leaves my finger tips exposes, but a simple strap tightening will fix that.

Here is how it closes around the rattan, for me. The thumb has a nice, deep cup and it grounds out nicely.

These appear to be the next generation version of the ones I bought a few years ago.

I ordered a custom cuff of soft leather with maille attached, and have since modified them a bit, but fighting greatsword a majority of the time I have not sustained any significant injuries.

Armstreet is great quality at a great price.
