Off topic, but why do you say Ashcraft should be shut down? Just curious.

A quick search of their name in these forums should make that readily apparent.

My suggestion if it gets too tough to make at that price.

And following minimum SCA rules:
Arms don't need upper arm segment. Just elbows & forearms.
Knees only require knee guards. The thigh cuisse should/could be optional.
Breastplate could just be wide belt piece. Covering front & back, kidney area.

For $100 more...
Add a gorget.
Half gauntlets.

Simple bascinet grille helm?

You could then make a $400 or whatever priced one with stuff shown in pic, the fuller pieces...
But a great deal nonetheless.
