Got his helm! Thanks alll who helped with ideas and purchases!

I just took it out today--even better in RL than in pics...REALLY nice work! (But when does Jacki NOT do great work....!)
I AM arranging for some modifications with a local metal smith--i am trying to preserve the brim but make it so i can remove it and put back on with a tab and screw system
wish me luck!
the brim adds an AWESOME look, but it picks up shots, and acts as a moment arm resulting in more torque on my (already bad) neck--i talked with Jacki, he said it was cool

SO i am hoping i can work this out so the brim can be off or on depending on what i am feeling--for pure sport-better off--for fun and look, MUCH better on...(in fact if i get this system down i would recommend it as an option -tab and screw on SCA brims so u can figth either way...) hmm maybe i will patent it lol

PS i am open to suggestions as well!

Yes, Your Excellancy! (working on the body armor--should be done shortly)

But, I am afraid, i am only one-versus-one now...i wont be much help to the Barony at Estrella (if i ever was any help anyways...lol) except maybe as a cheerleader, or a water-bearer...lol...with my neck-- i cannot take the chance on some monstrous side-ways 'sucker punch' pole thrust...As it is, i am lying to my doctors...

Funny, when i was young, head hits and pole thrusts were annoying, but did not hurt AT ALL --and i had concerns about some bad ass knight breaking my arm with a sword....now i care less about my arms, ribs, collar bone, etc. but my...NECK...i baby...! I sometimes wish i had not done some of the things i did in my past...they all contributed to my freak neck/thoracic outlet accident-- that has been a wreck in my life for 10 years...

They make neck braces that will lighten the load on your neck kinda the medical soft collars or the neck supports in racing to prevent cervical spine injury and whiplash. Crap a custom bevor could be made like a c collar if padded right. Should offer support and protection. You however will not be able to turn your neck.
