hi im just starting this so if i dont know what things are called im sorry. id like to make my own armour but i need something to dish helms out with so if any body could help me out.

something to cut the metal most start with a jig saw or a chisle A drill. others know somebody who knows some body with a throatless shear or nibbler that handles heavey sheet metal.
you will want other tools such as files, hacksaw, vice up to welders and grinder buffers. all depending on what you are trying to build. chances are you can build you first helm with minamal tools. most of witch you may already own just need a bit of modification. check pawn shops, yard sales and auctions regularly.
