Quick and dirty hidden leg protecction

I need some hidden legs and I need them before this weekend. I COULD just yank the knees off my current 14th century legs and add some fanless cops but I'd really like this be a last resort.
Anyone tried hockey pants before?
Any other ideas?
Again, these will be hidden so appearance does not matter.

Just put on baggy pants over your 14C legs.

Some of the local fencer crossovers wore hockey pants to fight spear at Pennsic. I can't say how well they worked though.

I have nice, fancy, prominent fans on them that'll shred the clothing.

I wear hockey pants and hockey knee/shin protectors. They're light, move well, and are thick enough to take the sting out of a solid blow.

If you have any kydex around it's the work of an hour to make a pair of kydex quisses. I also have a pair floating around if your in real need, I can ship em to you. PM me if that's the case.

I use mcdavid thump shorts and floating knees. Not great leg protection but not bad either.

I used hockey pants at a couple practices just to find out what it would be like. They worked fine, I'm pretty sure I got hit in the legs as much that day as any other day. If anything they worked better then the steel legs I originally started fighting in because of the built in padding.

I could next day you some of our aircraft aluminum splinted legs. They are light, strong and you can wear them under pants....

Hit up your local bike shop and get some moto-cross legs. The ones I got ran around $70.

I picked up a pair roller hockey shorts at Play It Again Sports for under $20.
We'll see how they work.

Depending on the padding, you might end up needing to add some thing kydex for a long-term solution, but it's easy enough to pull the pad out, cut the kydex, and then shape it over a 1 gallon paint can. (Which then makes the shorts pretty damned protective.)
