I saw that crackled style helm in Pompeii. It was found in a dig near the entrace to the historic site. It was full of soiled paper, bottles and gum wrappers.

Archaeologists were baffled by it because it bore a striking resemblance to something made by Ikea. There was no 20th century retro garbage cans around in 79 AD called a bascinet.

Hey if you cant find it , try ebay, it might just be there.

LMAO

Well, ladies and gentlemen, now we know what a brass-bordered polished steel glans penis looks like -- with a ferrous foreskin attached.

Buyer beware. The helmet is very odd to say the least. The statement about it being SCA legal is another one you need to look at closely. It states it’s SCA legal for thickness.

I'm just petrified that someone might see the A Squared and mistake it for MY armory. Really though, if people out there want to pay THAT much money for such utter CRAP, well... it's their money after all. You know, if it was at LEAST half-researched it might not be that bad...

I know there are regulations on certain industries that make them conform to certain standards for product quality and business conduct. Any chance any of that applies to armories? If not, it might just be time for us to start policing our own here. Some kind of watch-dog group for shite armor/armourers.

A Squared and their ilk give the rest of us a bad name, not that we really need their help for that. I don't know... something needs to be done to clean up our industry, folks.

[end frustrated rant]

How can you say that Odin was not a War God? That was his primary function!
He was a Death God (because he killed people as a war god -this is why half of the dead come to valhalla), a God of Wisdom (because he learned the power of ruins), and a Weather God (as his role as the God of the sky) as well. He was also associated with several other aspects.

well..i have to say a few things here..so ill sum a few things up 1 odin is not a god of war,,or wisdom,,he is the leader of the norse dietys in this age absolute master of magic and power his main diety function is to prevent ragnarok for as long as possiable..and morals arnt really a concern,,,the end justifies the means in this case...thor happen to be the god of war and defender of humans...the norse panethon is a lot diffrently oriented than the classical greek methology ones... but before i start getting on my soapbox fr a long time...ill stop since this isent really a religious discussion.

Odin's weapon was not a sword, it was a spear names "Gungnir", the most common weapon of all. In my readings, all Norse gods were gods of war as a secondary sphere, but Odin was the chief and he had influence over wisdom and magic.

BTW, that sword is ass-ugly, and that Roman bascinet looks like a poorly made barrel great-helm, with a crappy paintjob to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
