Group order: 500gr/mtr Linen Canvas

The thread below got me thinking about heavy weight circa 500gr/mtr linen canvas.

Since I'll be making a new gambeson in the coming months I decided to contact my old supplier. Apparently I am lucky and he will be getting a shipment in, in February/March, of un-impregnated linen tentcloth/canvas. 500 gr/mtr, 1,5 mtr wide.

Since I know this material can be hard to find, and to try and get a extra volume discount I'd like to arrange a group order. Current pricing is 14 euro/mtr, 1,5 mtr wide. Same price for his impregnated linen tentcloth, for if you wish to use it for it's intended purpose. Any savings due to a volume discount I'll pass on 1 on 1.

The stuff is heavy and very sturdy as you can see in the pictures below. It's brilliant for gambesons, bags, shield covering, straw sleeping pallets and the impregnated stuff is brilliant for its intended purpose...tents.

I'll finalize the group order and order the cloth in the first week of January. If you are interested please send me a PM.

Just to be clear. Only paid orders will be part of the group order since I won't earn anything on this initiative and don't want to run the risk of ending up with a couple rolls of tentcloth in the shed. Buyers pay actual shipping. I'll be using Postnl.

I wish you were on this side of the Ocean. Shipping from Netherlands to here makes it to expensive for me. It is nice to know that someone, some where carries linen tent canvas. Not easy to find over here.

Roughly, taking packaging into account:

1-3 mtr. 24,30 euro
4-8 mtr. 34,30 euro
9-18 mtr. 58,30 euro
18-35 mtr. 105,30 euro

Including track and trace. So shipping adds between 8 and 3,5 euro per meter. So trying to combine shipments with friends are the best way to get it across the ocean. Ofcourse if enough people want this material then it would make more sense to get a container shipped. Which, based on my past experience is between 800 and 1000 euro. The amount which can be shipped in a container is enormeous.
