I just measured and whaddaya know? I put my elbow on my bandsaw table next to a yardstick and the bottom of my hand is right at 12" from the surface of the table.
Does that work for you?

I guess I have to reduce the price on the Icefalcon 9mm Riveted Stainless maille shirt. It fits me fine and I have a 44" chest. I stole it for $525, but given the time of year I guess I'll have to lower it to
$475 plus shipping.
And I'll also reduce the price on the Dark Horse Leather tooled back and breast with layered shoulders. There's clickable picture here:
http://wiki.caid-commons.org/index.php/ ... _Llewellyn
I'll go
$375 plus shipping. It's a good kit for an early-period persona and very mobile in the shoulders because I can't stand any other kind.
Paypal's fine, and your word that you will buy in an agreed-upon time will get me to hold it for you but I would like a commitment that I'll be able to spend money on my new obsession.
By the way, dibs are getting kindof stale on the bauzubands and the layered arms, so let me hear from you, okay?

I'll take the layered leather arms. Let me know how the total including shipping (93308) and how you would like payment.
I'll send you a PM.
Thanks

I wish I was smaller. That is a great deal on the maille and a gorgeous leather breast and back. I however have about 10" more in the chest and judging by the picture a whole lot more around the middle than you.

Hello!
Just wanted I have to release the dibs on the arms. Price is right, just not my size!
Sorry it took a while. Was out of reach of a computer for Christmas.

No worries! I think that leaves the bauzubands available again, and the Thorgrimr demis are still here.
I'm about to take some more pictures and will shortly list:
- a pair of Radaelli sabres;
- a pair of custom cavalier boots in heavy cognac suede that I wore maybe twice but I can't wear since the nice people installed some titanium in my foot, making one a little wider than it was when the boots were built, and:
- a bronze-hilted Erik Stevenson dirk - that sound you just heard is the intake of breath from the most dedicated sword geeks all over the internet. Erik Stevenson pieces are hen's teeth any more and they know it.

Erik Stevenson was one of the best sword cutlers ever. His rapiers were world-class. Have a look:
http://www.swordforum.com/forums/showth ... n-(photos)
Here are more more rapiers and his clamshell Claymore:
http://www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=20840
...and he loved Scottish weapons.
Then, about ten years ago he just quit. No more Erik Stevenson swords. I began corresponding with him right about that time and while I was too late to get one of his rapiers, he did have some things that he was getting rid of and one of them was this wonderful bronze-hilt dirk.
Bronze-hilt dirks are just as period as any others but are a lot more rare as there are more people who can carve wood than can cast bronze. It has a fullered blade - quite sharp - and the solid bronze hilt moved the balance point back to right on the edge of the hilt. It handles like an 18" long fencing foil. That's why I made the scabbard the way I did - I had to have it hanging from that loop up there because it is so blade-light. I also put a ring in the frog because I like to be able to swing it out of the way when I'm playing Celtic harp at Celtic music festivals.
By the way, that swivel-ring on the frog is from one of my old whitebelts, so feel free to think it's lucky.
Here are the pictures:
I'll be advertising it on sword-geek boards where the name Erik Stevenson is more famous than here, but it wil listed for the same price as here:
$350, plus shipping and insurance.

Thanks! And here I was in the process of writing up another thread to reduce the prices on the stuff that I've still got and delete the things that have been sold.
Here’s what’s left:
~A stainless, riveted, 9mm maille haubergeon. Originally bought from Icefalcon; I bought it on this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=140556 for $525 and it was undervalued at the time considering its original price. It had been shortened a tad: the lower edge is halfway between my essentials and my knees and the sleeves come to the elbow. I wear a 44 regular jacket, am 5’9” and left the hospital at about 200 lbs. Being stainless doesn’t mean it’s shiny – it looks like iron without the rust. If you’re in the market for a maintenance-free maille shirt that looks correct up close you won’t find a better.
It’s the best maille I’ve owned, but since I’m not working I can’t buy my rapier gear without letting it go. I’m lowering the price to
$450. That's a reduction of
$250 from what it originally cost and I got to fight in it once.
~A tooled back and breast and layered spaulders from Dark Horse Custom Leather. I added some bling, some bison-hide straps and I articulated the shoulder straps for free movement. It shows in the picture on the link (
http://wiki.caid-commons.org/index.php/ ... _Llewellyn). Many of you know Magnus Ulfgarsson’s work and that it’s lightweight, wax-hardened and tough as dragon scale. Don’t think so? Show me a dragon scale and we’ll see. Magnus tooled a design in from the Battersea Shield for me and it’s a good-lookin’ set of armor for an early-period fighter.
I’ll go
$350 plus shipping for the armor.
If you’re interested in that center-grip oval shield on the same Compendium Caidis page, I’ll be putting it up too when I fix those little gaps in the rim. It’s edged in two layers of rawhide, saddle-stitched by Yours Truly, with a stainless boss, an oak handle and was a true proof-of-concept shield. I wanted it curved so that the center of gravity would balance in the hand and so that it would be hideously strong. I didn't think I would get the strongest possible shield if I bent plywood so I bent wood then plied it: I soaked, molded and laminated (cross-grain, of course) four layers of arctic birch in the mold. This was not flat plywood that I bent. This became plywood while in the mold.
As soon as I put some rawhide covers on those tiny gaps I’ll put it up for sale for
$150 plus shipping. However, though I will sell it I will paint it first. That’s my Patent of Arms on it and it’s not leaving my possession bearing my Arms. So, let me know what color you want it painted and that’s what you’ll get.
~The Boots. Oh yes, the boots. You’ll notice that I only model the right one for you. That has to do with the (only) reason I’m selling them. I ordered these from a traditional several-generations Mexican bootmaker and they are really very fine. But I only got to wear them twice, because something entirely unrelated happened that required the titanium vendor to rebuild my left foot, and when he did my left foot was just a bit too wide for these wonderful boots. The foot works; I'm not complaining.
I ordered square toes to look more period and leather soles and heels. You can certainly find cheaper boots - but these were not made from the slowest goat in Pakistan – these are tough North American cognac suede – the color is the same as Jack Sparrow’s boots from Curse of the Black Pearl. He had darker boots later on. I even got the bootmaker to send me some of the same hide and I made some spur straps and strap covers from it. I’ll include them too if you want them.

These boots cost me $400 before the options; I’ll sell them to you for
$250 plus shipping. Paypal is fine or I'll be happy to take your check.

I recieved the legs today! Great doing business with you Rhyance! Couldn't be happier with the whole transaction. Good price, great communication and fast shipping. It really sucks that you had to sell them though and I hope you're recovering well and can start light fighting soon.

The boots are standard American size 8 1/2 D - not like those confusing UK sizes.
And the oval shield is Sold Pending.

I got the basket hilts a few days ago; buying from Rhyance was a pleasure. He told me up front there would be a delay in shipping, and things arrived when expected with no problems.
Now I have to think about that mail shirt...

Glad you got the hilts and you're happy. It was a good deal for me as well. Regarding the maille, I'm 5'9", 200 lbs, wear a 44 regular jacket and my shoulders are 50" around. Since I was trying to replicate the cover of the Osprey Celtic Warrior book I wore it with no padding, only a bison-hide undertunic over a silk under-everything tunic. I only got to fight in it once and it's in perfect shape.

Bump for the boots and the maille. Look at it this way: you have size 8 1/2 D feet. You're not the biggest guy around. You should have the best-lookin' boots.
The leather carapace and shoulders had a strong nibble but haven't sold yet.
And for you you like to play
Prisoner of Zenda (The 1952 version had great color but the 1937 version had a better Rupert of Hentzau) I'll be listing a pair of Radaelli sabres before too long. They'll be $80 apiece plus shipping if you take the pair.

Okay, there's been one nibble on the boots but the hook didn't set - so I'll lower the price to $225 plus shipping.
That's getting awfully close to half what I paid for them, and include the spur straps and strap covers for that Cavalier look. Don't expect them to come down much more than this. If I can't get $225 I may just keep them as a gift for when I can lure someone who has size 8 1/2 feet to the pointy side of the Force.
