No they're fine and ridiculously cheap. I suspect its that Andy has had an different but equally excellent pair for sale for 10 months and went as low as $200 and still couldn't get a taker viewtopic.php?f=3&t=148334 . You will be fine and happy with these.

Fighting what? SCA isn't WMA/HEMA, isn't LARP, isn't LH. Before making a declaimintory statement of this nature it may help the consumer to know of what sort of use you are speaking.

Thank you Al,

Im sorry guys I been out of town all weekend and just got back, I got alot of interest in these, Russ Mitchell was first in line on em and Im talking to him now about details, One guy sent a payment on them that I will refund if they work out for Russ, I think there was a second and third in line also, I will post the order of the dibs list shortly after I figure it out.

Hrothgar the gauge is in the title of the thread, they are 16 gauge mild steel.

Actually you have a good number of WMA/HEMA folks, some LARPers and LHers as well ( many are former clients of mine ) thats why I asked. What may not work for SCA heavy doesn't mean it won't work for others ( one simple example, WMA/LARP/LH don't have a rule regarding finger plates needing to ground out. A really nice set of fingered gauntlets that doesn't ground out won't work for SCA heavy but that doesn't disqualify them from any of the others nor make them worthless crap ). I thought some clarification of what was meant by

would help potnetial buyers make thier call better. I just want to see Andy get these sold. I'm cross posting this to my FB.

Indeed, the grounded fingers on a lot of SCA gauntlets can actually be *show-stoppers* for some of the valid historical techniques I know with the sabre, which requires exceptionally-mobile fingers. I wouldn't be foolish enough to take this to SCA without some serious finger-bucklers, but the rest looks good.

Edit: RELEASING DIBS on the pair advertised above. PB and I are going to discuss the other pair he'd advertised previously.

Helpful advice here: you might not want to ask questions like a jerk if you want a response.

*SOME* of the people on here fight SCA heavy. There are people who do WMA/HEMA, Living History, Light/Fencing, LARPing ... and armorers, tailors / tailoresses, artists and vendors who do *no* fighting whatsoever - SCA or otherwise.

Pitbull answered your question in the thread title itself; they're 16 gauge. He posted pictures. He didn't claim they are SCA gauntlets. He didn't claim they're magical and prevent all injuries - news flash, even with SCA legal gear you can still get injured.

It's up to the buyer to decide if they're suitable for what they want to buy them for, or ask questions if they're not sure. But saying something asinine like "what do you think I would be talking about" is a great way to get ignored and be considered rude....

I did not see what gauge they were in the title I musta missed that, I do not feel the question I asked was a jerk question, and yes I am sorry I left out that they would not be good for SCa heavy fighting, with that being said I was not trying to be rude you don't have to be such a douchebag when you answer me... it was a small misunderstanding on my part, and you people jumped on me like I was intentionally being rude you're a bunch of douchebags....

So now that you are being intentionally rude, we're justified in jumping on you? Just curious.

Howdy, It seems to me, you answered like an ass here, and you got jumped on for it. Learn from it like I did, and move on, theres all kinds of people in this forum doing everything from Squirrel armor to space suits.

I understand if you really didnt mean to be an ass, things come across so much different in text than in person. We need to really take time to add the common courtesy and politeness to our posts to avoid misunderstandings.

Anyway theres lots of great people here and SO much information to soak up. Have fun and enjoy.

Yep. We're all buds here, at least in theory. If I step on my crank (and I have done so here), I expect folks to at least be courteous enough to say "hey, bro, you're stranding on your crank."

No harm no foul, far as I'm concerned.

It's not the question, it's the manner in which it was asked:
