Re: Maille Makers?
Specifics on the type of maille would help. Riveted?
If butted, there are people on theringlord.com forums who would offer their services.

Re: Maille Makers?
If you have rought dementions it would help, also how soon do you need it and what material?
skirts or faulds are often rectangular or trapazoidal in shape often stiched to Belt or gambison.
Icefalcon has some great stuff, weldedchainmail.com or Atlanta armoury have welded mail thats of good quaility.
I can make sheets of butted galvanized with local material Mild steel takes a little longer as I would order in materials.
Stainless, Brass, and Bronze are significantly more expencive and require a material deposit.
Stainless and bronze take a lot longer to weave.
If its just decorative or costume use aluminum is a good choice many of the 5XXX series resist tarnish a lot more then the aluminum fence wire. there are some 4XXX series aluminum that also resist tarnish but they tend to be very soft, Great for learning wire wrapping or viking wire weaveing but it lacks the strenth for even decorative armour.
How long your willing to wait for a piece of armour is one of the big questions.
Maill is a slow process expecialy for custome work.
Duke Icefalcon, Atlanta Armoury, or Master knuut at weldedchainmail.com all are much faster then custom work.

I don't regularly stock skirts since people tend to want different sizes, but I can make custom welded stainless steel ones for you. What waist size and length would you want?

Ah, sorry, Aluminium or titanium,(for weight) and I'm open to either rivetted or butted.
So far you've given me great leads, thanks!

Re: Maille Makers?
I wouldn't exclude steel from the possible material choices. I can make you a welded stainless shirt that would weigh less than a butted aluminum shirt, and will never lose a link in SCA combat.
How light do you want your shirt? My flat ring welded stainless shirts typically weigh 10 to 15 pounds. For the right price, I can make you a titanium shirt that weighs between 3 and 5 pounds. Even moderately priced titanium shirts cost upwards of $1500. The last one I sold was over $1800, and that's not even the ultra-light, ultra expensive ring size.
If you can send me your measurements below I can give you a price estimate for several ring sizes/materials and a weight estimate.
Chest - Distance around chest across breast.
Waist - Distance around largest part of waist or hips
Fall Length - Length from armpit to desired bottom hem
Front - Distance across chest from edge of armpit to edge of armpit
Back - Distance across back from edge of armpit to edge of armpit
Armpit - Width of armpit
Bicep - Circumference of bicep at full flex
Sleeve - Length of sleeve from armpit
Head - Smallest hole your head will fit through OR neck circumference if a lace-up neck is desired.
