FS Merctailor Brass Trim & Regular Spaulders, Besagues

Post by AL »

I have for sale two pairs of spaulders and a pair of besagues.

The brass trimmed spaulders are made from 16 gauge CR mild steel with hand rolled and counter sunk edge on the main plate, as well as beveled edges where appropriate and a scalloped brass border on the bottme lame edge. The spaulders articulate on both leathers ( front and center ) and slot riveting ( back ) as per historical examples I used to own. The spaulders have eyelets for pointing but I can install a set of buckles if desired for attachement to a gorget. Includes hand made buckles with steel strap ends with light file and chisel work decoration. These can also attach the besagues shown or the other type i've made. I can adjust the curvature for fit but based them on myself with a 14.5 inch biscept and took into account the rebracer for arm harness. Like to get $75 for the pair ( well under what we used to sell them for ) plus shipping.

The second set of spaulders are made from 16 gauge steel with hand rolled and counter sunk edges where appropriate, as well as beveled edges where appropriate. Like to get $70 for the spaulders ( well under what we used to sell them for ) plus shipping and $20 for the besagues plus shipping.

Also have legs viewtopic.php?f=3&t=158803 and bucklers viewtopic.php?f=3&t=158525

Workin' on it Andy. After my father passed in Dec. i've been able to get more time into owed stuff and not just keeping the bills paid and i'm trying to keep that momentum going ( Mike L's almian collar, James A's heat blued arms, Brett F's peascode B&B plates ect. ) into February with the first of the year property taxes comming due.

I'm pretty new and don't have the means to do research effeciently mainly because I do all my Internet stuffs on my phone as well as my data plan isn't massive so it caps fairly fast

The spaulders with the brass; would they fit into 1350-1400 period?

Rddeano, Hello. Yes, those spaulders would work for a persona of 1350-1400. If you ever have questions about what might be"period" for a certain nationality or certain time frame, a good place to start is....

Alan,
If the brass trimmed spaulders have not been sold yet, I will take them!
