I'm conducting a market survey for polished (600 Grit) Spring Stainless Steel Sugarloaf helms made for ACL/Botn made from 0.090"/13ga./2.3mm 410 stainless steel and hardened to a Rc43-45 hardness. My best estimate is that the dent resistance would be at least as good as 3/16" / 7ga. / 4.75mm 304 stainless steel.

I have a design based the the sugarloaf helmet shown below, including the brass cross, with more breath holes, and with three tabs evenly spaced over the eye slots. I'm also looking at including welded 304 stainless steel aventails. The construction would be done entirely in the USA and using modern computer controlled heat treating equipment.

Who would be willing to pay $1175 for one of these helmets with the brass cross and welded aventail installed? How about $975 with the brass cross, but without the aventail? The 3rd option is $875 without either the cross or aventail.

The following protos are of a phototype blackened 1050 spring steel sugarloaf that I made a few days. I'm adding these photos to show the shaping on the top of the helmet.
