Ironbadger rondel dagger auction for August
Posted: Fri Aug 23, 2013 7:05 pm
Last auction for August.
My typical late medieval rondel dagger, though with a slightly wider blade, and sharper than my usual icepick daggers.
(There was more to work with than my usual rondel blades..The knitting needle ones can't be sharpened too much without weakening them.)
Carbon steel, single edged blade 11 3/4 inches long.
Overall length about 16 3/4 inches.
Cherry wood grip. 4130 chrome-moly steel guard and pommel disc.
Peened tang, and tang thick and durable. (I don't do thin and weak tangs.)
Rough mirror polished.
These are popular, and go fast since I seldom have more than one a month to auction.
$120 opening bid, and I'll put in a buy it now option for $145. (Buy it now goes away after a bid is placed.)
I can offer a sheath option for an additional $35.
Winner will pay an additional $18 for US shipping and insurance.
Overseas buyers- I'll need to know your country of origin for a shipping quote...And you are responsible for knowing you own knife laws.
Payment by paypal, and payment due within 3 days of end of auction.
Auction will run till next Wednesday- 5 days.
This is from the last of my old chain saw bars.
From this point on, my production will be unpredictable... Completely dependent on finding the right steel for what I can afford to pay, and its going to cost me more. (No more cheap steel bought a decade ago in storage.)
So I am forced to raise my prices slightly if I want to keep making knives...But I'm keeping the increase as low as I can.
Thanks for looking.
