We will be having a Black Friday Sale, but Black Friday is for Wimps, so it will be all weekend long. Get your orders in early. We will also have some early bird specials over the coming few weeks as well.
We have come across 10 of the Norwegian Tines that we will be selling, handmade in the US. These are the boxes with lids, made with bentwood. Excellent Christmas presents, I will be taking pics soon. Got a batch of Sporrans ready for the Scotts in the crew. Have got on hand a batch of dark brown and black 16th Century shoes, just haven't gotten them on the site yet.
Should have a nice stock of shoes in a couple of weeks. Trying to finish up on several designs.
Will try to have everything updated soon.

Are your boots available in extra wide?

Hello Vladimir,
When you say extra wide, is that just a single wide, such as 13E, or do you have a wider foot like a 13EEE?
To answer the question, it really depends on the style of boot. The boots that are a pointed toe, I can put on the shoe stretcher and get a single width extra for you. Rounded toe boots can have a 2E width added. Give me your size and style preference and I can tell you if I can make something work for you.

Oh Frank, why must you tempt me? I'm in the middle of building a new kit and I could use some shoes but I need money to eat.

Just the dark brown and black this time around. If you give me a size I can get a pair for you on the next go round.

Frank,
You are a bad, bad man to tempt us in such a manner. You should be ashamed of yourself.
(Balancing checkbook now...)

Hehe,
Trying to be good. Thought I would give a heads up. Will be placing leather on the site, as the bellies and shoulders have become quite popular. I am getting some together for some folks right now as well.
Headed after more supplies and leather on Saturday.

Prolly, mine are about that wide. I wear 11½, but went with the 12.

Hey Frank, you have the description wrong on this page. For some reason it calls them out as 12th century not 16th
These 12th Century shoes are based on styles of footwear common during the period. They are based on patterns taken from shoes that were excavated from along the Thames River in London.
Not a big deal, figured you'd want to know anyway.

This process provides supple leather with a pebbled leather finish for a nice period look.
Hope this doesn't derail things too much, but do you have more info on that?

What would you like to know? The leather is tanned using barks instead of chromium salts, or the chemicals used in vegetable tanning. The tanning process does give the leather a nice pebbled look instead of the slick finish we see on the leathers tanned in Mexico from American Steer Hides, Chrome tanned hides and oil tanned hides. The leather for the most part looks more like a bison hide, with the pebbled finish. I am not the biggest history buff on the subject, but in my reading, it seems very close to the tanning of our ancestors.
The colored leathers, black and brown are spray dyed with AZO free colors to prevent harm to skin / Health.
Hope it answered your question. All the shoes I carry are very close to their period shoe cousins. They have been tweaked just enough to give us solid surfaces to place rubber soles, for the comfort of our modern feet. The turn shoes are often too narrow for the US wide footed folks which is the reason I don't carry them any longer. I sell more of the hard soled nailed shoes.

If they are flat, maybe so!

Very good. Took the first couple of hours around the house to get comfortable, but after that very good. I have fought both indoors and outdoors, and like the feel.

I went from fighting in steel toed boots to fighting in Frank's 14th century buckled boots. I will never go back!
You can actually feel the ground beneath your feet and you instantly notice how much footwork plays a critical role in proper technique.
