What would the hive mind consider to be a fair price for basic mild steel (16 gage) knee and elbow cops? How about 3 piece articulated knees and elbows?

I've paid $30 for a pair of 16 gauge simple elbows. Not sure about articulated joint pricing.

For cops look at rough from the hammer and adjust based on features such as material, flare, wing shape, ridge, and finish.
There is more than one shop ordering boxes of cops from RFTH marking them up a little or using them as a sub assembly.

Does anyone know what rough from the hammer is currently charging for knee and elbow cops in mild steel?

If I remember properly (which I've been known not to) I seem to remember elbows costing close to $15/pair with no wing and knees somewhere around $20 wingless and tack on a few extra dollars for wings.

For something really simple I'd be happy to pay $20-$25 for elbows and $25-$30 for knees. For 3 pieces I wouldn't mind throwin' another $10 on. But I tend to be cheap.

Fair price?...hmmm...I think for a basic pair of elbow or knee cops with strapping, I would say anywhere from $25 to $45 would be fair,....Bokalo sells "sport" mild steel (I believe) elbows for $20 a pair for elbows and $24 a pair for knees...these come painted but unstrapped....so, strapped you could charge $5 more easily,....

Truthfully, finding fair quality at $20 a pair unstrapped, but painted as Bokalo is offering, is very good. Chet over at Rough from the Hammer sells them cheaper (as has been noted) but they are unstrapped and unpainted.

This is VERY basic armour...however, there really is a market for it out there,...in fact, if you put up strapped mild, painted basic cops for $25 a pair, if Senechals for Baronies didn't jump on that for Barony loaner gear then they need to give their heads a shake.
Think about it? At $25 a pair, painted and strapped, throw in a $100 basic starter helm (which I think you offer don't you?), pick up some rattan from Baron Eirik.....you've got a full loaner kit for under $200....I'm rambling,...

Probably underpriced for the value though.

For articulated elbows and knees, it depends.
Do they work right? Do they look right? Then I'd say $125 for a properly articulated set of 3-piece knees is on the cheap side. Stainless would be more like $175.

If I was selling knees on a regular basis that's what I'd charge. People would complain about how much they cost, and if they complained to me in person, I'd calmly let them know why.

OP I'd give you 50$ for knees and elbows if you are interested in making them. I've been looking but can't find any. Pm if you are interested. Thanks.

I think a big factor is how much time you have to put into a pair. Find that out and charge accordingly
