How is your sizing measured? You mention the red gambeson is a M but that doesn't mean much by itself. What type of closure options are you offering? What about padding options- is 'wadded cotton' all you offer or do you offer more historical options, like horsehair or wool? Also, for the liner, is linen an option or is cotton the only choice? Will you include gussets under the arms so that when raised, the rest of the garment remains flat against the body w/out moving? How tailored will the final item be?

Also, where are the pictures of arming doublets with points on them? Also do you do grande assiette sleeves?

Size M means that usual customer`s clothes are marked M

. We make all products
according to the customer's individual measurements. The cost of gambesson depends on amount of materials and the complexity of a wanted style that's why I indicated the size.
No, we don`t use horsehair or wool as a padding.
Upper and liner materials according to customer`s wishes - wool, linen, cotton, synthetics.
We make various styles, so we discuss all tailoring details individually.

Sergey,
Your Picasa link takes me to my "my photos."
I'm sure we'd all be interested in seeing more examples of your work.

The red gambeson has no buttons- it looks like it is pinned shut just for the picture; is this so, or is this how it will actually look and work? Buttons, straps, thongs- which, if any, do you offer as closure options for these gambesons? I suppose the padding material isn't such a big deal as no one's going to see it.

As long as it breathes well and wicks away moisture (as opposed to absorbing it and making you feel very wet and very heavy)...

The customer ordered it without buttons, he wanted to attach his own buckles.
Buttons, straps, thongs, cords, loops - anything. Just tell what You want or sent a picture.

It breathes well, wicks away moisture and dries quickly. Our fighters use gambessons with this liner and have no complaints (we live in a very hot area, up to +104F in summer).

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of Living History- as I don't know offhand, I just assume that they'll question it anyway...even the bits that you couldn't show unless you cut something apart or what have you.
Sergey, I'm glad to hear you offer so many options- I've been shopping around for someone to make a gambeson to my measurements. The question is- what measurements do you require in order to proceed? I'm looking for a 13th C style gambeson so it'll be longer than waist length; I'd like it thick in the body like the red one but not as much in the arms, especially at the inner bend of the elbow.
What's your turnaround time and how do you accept payment?
