We were waiting to post our offerings until we had the new buckles in hand. We have a large supply of new styles of brass buckles. We have about 500 of each style in stock. Available in singles and 8 packs. Take a look. Ready to ship. Remember to send me a note if you are only ordering buckles and I can send them in a padded mailer to save a few dollars in shipping. Look in the smaller buckles tab and the 1 inch tabs. Thanks for looking.

Are your "3/4 Inch Lobed Buckle and Fitting" strong enough to strap armour?

The buckle itself is strong enough, but the tongues are made of sheet brass, so for myself, I wouldn't use them for armor unless it is in a position that doesn't need a lot of strength. We use this type on some of our footwear, accessories and journals.

Are you going to have any "buy now, pick up at GW" sales? That would save us the shipping (and potentially sales tax) and save you the hassle of boxing them up and taking them to the post office.

I keep destroying my fighting shoes. I get maybe one year of use out of them. This isn't the fault of the shoes, which I really like, but rather that I have an unfortunate tendency to walk off the insides of the soles and then wear holes in the sides of the shoes.

Since I'm going to be at GW anyway, and everyone needs shoes.... :)

Hello Scott,

Again, we will not be at GW this year. I am not set up for it just yet and have too many orders to deal with to take the time to go. I know it would be good for sales and to meet and greet quite a number of people, but my customers come first and we will be staying at home this year. While you folks are out having fun, I will be hammering away in the shop,

I don't charge sales tax to even my home state customers, I pay it myself, and try to help with the shipping when I can.

On the matter of your shoes, perhaps some buildups on the inside of your shoe would keep you from walking them off. I do have shoe shop equipment at my fingertips. Explain your problem and the next pair might be fitted to accommodate.

People say it looks like I am walking on my ankles.

This even happened when I was wearing the good ol' East German Combat boots 12 - 20 years ago. And to a lesser extent wearing USA made motorcycle cop boots. The EG boots lasted 2 or 3 years IIRC, and the USA ones a couple of years longer. Period shoes, however, are pretty much 1 year tops. I think I have been wearing period shoes to fight in for 5-6 years, and I have pretty much just come to accept it as part of the annual cost. Not that I am happy about that, since I am really a cheap-ass.

Basically, my heel ends up on the inner side of the shoe. Eventually, my whole foot is on the side. So I end up wearing a hole in the side, either at the heel or at the ball of the foot, or both. My current shoes have the reinforced heel going up the back. I thought for sure these would last longer. Nope, I wore through the side of one of them at Estrella, and that was without walking on any asphalt, either.

I have an insole in them, as well as a rubbery heel cup, but I still end up on the sides.

I will ponder on that and suggest something for you.

The wear of the shoe is what I have seen while making sabatons to fit used turn shoes.
The combat fighters have a particular wear pattern to their shoes.
It is easy to see which foot is the leading foot.
I try to accommodate the sabatons to fit those wear patterns.

Your buckles are very nice.
Jolly well done.
