WTB a starter helm

I am a young guy new to the SCA and I am seeking a combat-quality helm on a budget. My preference is for a Norman conical or spangenhelm with a nasal and cheek plates. I'd be happy for gently used, or I'd appreciate referral to an armoror or dealer who sells decent inexpensive helms in finished or roughly finished condition.
Help would be appreciated!

What's your location?
There could be one local to you, or local-ish.
Failing that, Accdntprone, here on the archives, does some decently priced starter buckets, as does Hjalmr, and (I think?) Otto.
Look'em up, see what you can see..
And welcome to the Archive

Halberds has an excellent sale right now on his Carlos the Crusader helms!

Iain mac Gillean:
I live in southern NH. I have seen pictures of Hjalmrs stuff out there, and I liked his stuff, and prices. But I don't know how to contact him or if he's currently accepting orders. I'll look into these others as well thanks.
-BTW I have a couple of antique anvils to trade if anyone is interested I can provide details.

Southern NH, me too, I will ask around.
One of my household brothers has a spangen with nasal and cheeks he would sell cheap.
Its well built and solid, but rusty, but would look nice again with some elbow grease.
I will give him a ring.

Check my first post

It belongs to a member of my household.
I am sure he will sell it, I have left him a voice mail about it and will contact you when I hear from him and I know whats up.
Its very rusty but not beat up. I have no idea what he is asking etc
As soon as I hear from him and get details I will send you a pm.
Cheers

Are you interested in selling any of the anvils outright?

Johann Lederer:
For the moment i could part with the smaller of the two anvils, which is approximately 180lb, forged, and estimated by a friend to be 1900~1920. I live in Chester, NH, so if you are still interested from your location, I can email some photos and come up with a fair price.

Cal, what is your head size?
I do not have anything myself, but knowing what size range you are will help a lot in locating a bucket.
