So, I got the prototype (the one he was selling) in the mail.

I am pretty happy with it. The lined cloth seems plenty thick and the rivet job was done well.

Add a gambeson and this is a nice lightweight option for body armour.

I plan on "blacking out" the rivets on the outside and making this part of my crusader rig.

Hell - for $80, put me on the list for the new version with the spine plates. If nothing else will use as loaner gear for folks. Would appreciate a few extra rivets put in the front and rib plates from the prototype though, let me know if there is extra charge for that.

Let me know if you need a deposit - happy to pay 50% up front and 50% on delivery.

You're #3 then. :) The "final" version has more rivets in those areas as a standard, so no extra charges. :)

I forgot to add a review. I bought this proto-type.
I am VERY pleased with how it is built. The improvements Thorgrimr has for the production stuff will make them even better.
Thor added a string of spine plates for me on this one. Over all this should make for a nice mobile CoP.

I may have to buy one of his production ones as well. Nice stuff!

How is movement when throwing shots? Does it bind up? Does it dig into you? Does it prevent you from crossing your arms in front of you?

I haven't worn it in combat yet.

BUT, I have had it on and played with it a bit. I've been fighting for about 12 years, and I don't think I would have any problems moving in this thing. The plates overlap on the front for bending and stop at the tops of my hips on the sides, so I can bend front, back, side to side with reasonable mobility. And I can cross my arms in the front as well.

Now, every person is built differently, BUT, one good thing with the plates being plastic, they are easy to cut/modify if you need a little extra room here or there.

I have tried plastic before and didn't care for it, but it may be due to how it was put together. I'm thinking that this might work for a "second chance" at it. Let me know who to contact to look at ordering and if they would take 50% now and the rest (plus S&H) when done.

I have two orders to finish first, then I will pm you. I have to warn you up front- time has been an issue for me lately (I haven't had enough of it). My turnaround time has been (too) slow in recent months. This should be resolved soon, but I felt I should warn you...

That looks like a good design. I'm smaller than you, but I'll buy the prototype as loaner armor if no one else wants it first. Email me off-list at gene dot truex dot 303 at my dot csun dot edu if you want to sell it to me.

Best wishes

InsaneIrish already purchased the prototype - I believe I am next up. For this price, expect to wait a while - Good/Fast/Cheap/ - pick any 2...

My Knight would absolutely kill me if I didn't put my name on this list. Funds have kept me from getting a kit together for the year and a half I've been his Man-at-Arms, but no one can't afford this and reviews are already lauding it's quality!

Please consider me once you've completed your current queue. Anytime before April would be great because I hope to be in armor when my second year of service to my Knight is complete.

PM me with/for details.
