I haven't bought any armour from Jeff in... Probably more than 20 years now, but I'm still fighting in the arms and legs I bought back then. He makes nice stuff and he's a standup guy. I have no idea about turnarounds and stuff, but he'll take care of you.

Jeff does excellent work, but I'm biased… I live pretty nearby and I see a lot of him.

I am just concerned with timeline and communication. I have been around enough to be a fairly informed customer and I am ready to order, but I want to make sure whoever I go with can deliver what I am asking in time for Estrella, but more like January. He quoted me a time of around 2 months but I haven't received much communication from him in regards to my last few questions. I guess I could be annoying because I ask a lot of them, but I am feeling a bit gun shy lately due to the massive pain in the ass of my last armor transaction.

He's had a lot of shit in his life in the last few weeks, due to circumstances beyond his control.

Jeff is an upfront guy, but you have to realize that people who do work for fringe markets aren't always going to be reliable on short term notice. Plan your needs farther ahead, or go with in stock armories. Three months notice is not usually enough. Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on theirs.

Bender, if he agrees to it- then it will if he doesn't deliver. Shouldn't be doing it if he can't deliver, and that goes for all of the others out there who see fit to keep the money while dishonoring the bargain.

I am asking for reviews for an armorer not your uninformed opinion about what I am asking for and in what time. You don't even know what I am trying to order or what time I was asking for it in specifically so all you are doing is being a dick. I am just asking if this guy is reliable about his product and his own self stated delivery times.

I already said he was reliable. You were informed he's having issues after complaining about his lack of response. When I see complaining, I like to enlighten people about having realistic expectations. Guys like you seem to assume that small armorers are like a fast food place. An average armorer is going to have at least a six month back log if he makes a living at it.

So I offered some advice designed to help ALL of the customers and armorers out there-plan further ahead. Instead of giving the small craftsman a hard time about your lack of foresight. I'm not trying to be hard on you, just trying to get you to see the other side so you can make adjustments and still play.

At this late point in time you may have difficulty in getting anyone to do a custom piece for you by the deadline you are asking for. But there are many fine in stock armories that may be able to help you,and are very reputable.

Have you looked at ice falcons site? He employs sub contractors to make things or him of high quality. It lets him focus on things like communication. As the go between, it allows his workers to concentrate on getting the job done, instead of spending a quarter of their time holding anxious people's hands. Because every hour you are pestering the craftsman is an hour he is NOT getting your armor done.

"Guys like you seem to assume that small armorers are like a fast food place. "

And there you are doubling down on assumptions. Making excuses for people being bad at business without giving that person a chance to be bad at it is pretty much a sign of how much your opinion on the reliability of a given craftsmen is worth.

There were no complaints, there was discussion and concern, then you just started talking down to someone rather than enlightening anyone.

Dude I am a fairly well informed customer. I have been on the archive for years, bought plenty of armor, done hours of research, and have been running my own business for years now. I am not some joe off the street. All I asked is if he makes quality armor and is likely to keep to the schedule that he set. You have a completely jaded idea of customers then because I am the type that will completely bend over backwards to give even bad ones the benefit of the doubt! I am a small business myself and I understand exactly the issues that craftspeople have in running a business while working a regular job and stuff. I may not be a super fast producer but I expect at least regular communication to answer my questions and if that isn't happening I would like to know whether that is to be expected from someone or if it is because there are special circumstances. It takes less than five minutes to answer an email or a message and I do not think that is unreasonable. It is up to the craftsman to discuss the details with me up front on what can or can not be done and for how much money and all of that should be done ahead of time.
You didn't inform me of anything I didn't already know. You don't know anything about what I was asking to possibly order or the specifics of my conversation with that the armorer you are really just leaping to huge conclusions without any background information. Maybr you should get the hell off your high horse and read what I actually wrote instead.of just repeating your same terrible assumptions. I havent even ordered anything yet and am trying to actually vet someone before I spend my money so that i do not have a repeat of my last armor purchasing experience. Thanks for mucking up a simple thread with a bunch of unecessay bs. Luckily the other people who read it gave me the information I was actually asking for already.
