Medieval eyeglasses frames. ZanoZa Workshop.

Post by olegsergheev »

Hello!

I represent to your attention the medieval eyeglass frames out of cherry wood and hornbeam.

Image

My workshop medieval section - https://www.etsy.com/shop/ZanozaWorksho ... d=17335328

How it works - video - https://youtu.be/BJlgS68n7EQ

Pricing - 15-26 euro for pair.

LASER CUT!

Our customers wanted these frames soooo much! WE MADE THEM!!!

If you are blind as a bat without your eyeglasses then we will help you to get a complete medieval look!

Every pair of spectacles you will find here is made from laser-cut wood and has primary historical sources.

Material: European hornbeam, Brass rivet, Raw linseed oil finish
Color: Beige, nearly white

Holes at the sides are ideal to attach cord loops to keep them on your head. We add to parcel a thick thread for this type of frame :)

The eyeglasses are hand sanded. Lens grooves of this frame allow the lenses to set into it.
Each type of wood has amazing patterns and different colours, that make every pair of eyeglasses unique.

***The frame shown is an example. Please note that due to the nature of the materials used, there will be slight variations. But anyway, the frame you will receive will be just as beautiful as the one pictured :)

Those are fantastic! Laser cutting them really makes them economical, it almost makes me wish I wore glasses. Almost

Best of luck with these!

Is there any documentation for frames like these containing tinted lenses?

The first documented evidence of tinted lenses used in Europe seems to come from the mid-18th century, with the experiments of James Ayscough.

Nice.

I do woodworking, but at these prices, it'd be easier just to buy from you.

Also like your little folding knives.

I am very pleased to see the result of my work. Thank you Dmitry for the wonderful photos!

This frame is based on spectacles found in Florence. The only rivet spectacles ever found in Italy.
