This sword is in excellent condition - undamaged sharp edges, no nicks or dings in the cross guard, all fittings firm and tight (no "sword rattle"). Some *very* minor cosmetic blemishes on the handle, as results from normal handling. The sword has *never* been subjected to any harsh treatment (it's never been used to chop into wood or tatami) and it is in outstanding condition.
The sword has been given some custom touches by a knowledgable sword smith - the set screw that holds the pommel in place has been replaced by brazing, and the cross guard has been lightly peened in place. This means that the handle is "captured" between the cross and the pommel, and will never loosen or start to rattle (as can happen with this model's usual "set screw" retention design, when the pressure of the screwed-down pommel damages the end of the handle.)
The sword comes with a black leather scabbard (standard design) that has been fitted with a custom leather belt and hangar. The belt will fit someone with a waist measurement between 28" and 44".
