Stainless/Copper edged Coif for sale

Post by Otto »

Sorry, no pic (haven't figured those out since when I used to have AOL)

Anyway, at ValDay, I traded a nice gentle one of my crusader helms for a really nice coif which I have no use for... but it seemed to make him happy, so it was cool by me as I wanted to leave anyway.

So anyway, I have this lovely coif... mainly 16 gauge butted stainless steel with a double row of copper rings around the bottom edge and also copper around the facial opening. The rings appear to be 1/4 inch interior diameter, so fairly small. From the top center ring to the bottom edge measures approx. 16 inches. I just tried it on, and it lays very well on the shoulders, no bunching or anything, extending almost out to the point of the shoulders.

I asked a highly skilled/long-time chainmaille maker what it was worth, and he told me he'd not charge less than $125 for it... since it's just an extra item for me, I'm asking $100 (or if that seems unreasonable, make an offer)

Very pretty item, well made, fits over my 24.5 inch head just fine, but not really something I need just now. Anyone interested can respond here or write me at sbvast@yahoo.com

wow, shame you have to sell it. you coul dhave just told me you didn't want to trade. Both parties have to be happy with the trade.

I made this coif, if anyone is looking for another one in different sizing, drop me a line, i can do other stuff to.

this coif is made of 16 ga 1/4'" stainless links.

No stress at all Tarquin...

I frequently do stuff like that at events. I make some money... and generally have a good time running the table. If I make a trade, usually it's something I'll sell later. Besides that, I was rather alot of ill at the time and was quite happy to get the last helm off the table and be on my way!

It comes down to that I like making folks happy and you seemed to want the helm, so it was totally cool by me. I'll sell the coif down the road sometime so I still get my money out... no loss to me.

Oh, BTW... do you have a site or business name for me to refer folks to for your maille?
