Guys,
Recently, a friend of mine gave me an Iraqi Jambiya (a tradtional arab knife) that was found in a bombed out bunker in Iraq when American Soldiers took over a base.
It is about ten inches long, with the traditional curved blade with a lateral rib. It has (I believe) a buffalo horn handle. At one time, the handle was decorated with gold and silver fittings, but most of them were gone before the knife came to me. One silver concho type thing remains. The metal is some shiny steel, that appears to be chromed. The blade has stains that may be blood. I have scrubbed the stains off one side of one edge, but the metal is not discolored, so the blade may not be chromed, but rather some form of stainless.
The edge appears crude, almost like it was hacked with a poor quality file. There is ssome engraving or etching on the base of the blade.
I am a big knife fan, but I don't really want this thing in my house. I am very aware of it whenever I am in the room with it, and it makes my fingers itch.
