Old birka lamella cuirass for sale

Post by white mountain armoury »

Ive spent many hours in this cuirass, these plates are from the original archive birka plate order.
The leather is well seasoned 12 oz dyed dark green, as you can see the left hip area is pretty beat, that what you get when you use a small centergrip :)
Plan on 25.00 shipping or there abouts.
ill take the Best offer, im a 46/48 across the chest.
Here is a pic of me the last time i wore it.

Looks nice. How did you make that mace?

P.S. To thoes looking at buying this, the plates will straiten out with a rubber mallet and a flat surface. I have to do that once in a while on my cuirass, pretty much cosmetic.

Sixtus, the mace is an easy build. I only used a hole saw, one hole saw to put a hole in the center of an ice hockey puck, the other hole saw i use to cut 2 perfect circles from foam, the same size and thickness as the puck.
Stack them on the rattan like an oreo. then wrap the puck only with a strip of padding, the tape it all up.
The gaurd is another pcuk, and the pommel a tennis ball

I am almost finished with mt lamellar myself. How did you make those excellent petuerges and how did you attach the to the bottom of the lamellar? I would greatly appreciate the info..

Ronnin,

While I'm not Adam, I can explain. Match the leather with the bottom of the lamellar, mark the holes and punch them out of the leather. Weave the leather along with the lamellar on the bottom holes.

Hope that helps a little.

Cheers

Wow, I like the way you laced it up.... this is a cool way of doing it putting the straps further in. I am still kicking around ideas on how to edge my lamellar as well as strapping it. The older lamellar look like you made a sperate belt and strappeed it to the outside. This one is very different. Thanks for the pics, a great help indeed..
