Awesome 16 G STAINLESS Pualdrons with guards for sale!

Post by Stephen »

Made by Lewis Moore. Lewis is going to kill me when he reads this! I begged him to make these for me but I could not find a breast or back to go with them I wanted. I ended up going with a coat of plates and these do not go with that.
These are 16 G stainless! They are nicely articulated and the lames before teh guard make sure you can still lift your arm a decent way up before hitting the guard on the helmside.
The Gorget he made for me goes very well with it but it is NOT for sale. He will make you one or you can use your own or mount them however you want. I used teh front part of my gorget to be able to take good pics of how they sit. I used a wing nut to attach them to the gorget. Worked well for me. The back part of the gorget (which is not pictured) I have straps for my full arms.
I am in need of a maille hauberk with no sleeves. I do steel work so it has to be strong but not 14 G butted weight. I was told that 14 G alum butted anodized will be ok for combat. I either want something like that or 16 G rivetted mild shirt. I can not afford a really nice one right now so I will have to go for the indian rivetted.
I am looking for a maille trade or selling the Pauldrons outright for $225.00 I feel that is a good price for stainless. Lewis sells the mild pauldrons with guards for $175.00 So $50.00 more for 16 G stainless is a good deal (I think) :-)
If you guys can not see the pics I will email whoever asks for them. I will put these on ebay in a few days if no one wants them here. I have the coat of plates and need the maille to get back out there fighting.

Hey Steve,

I have a MRL flat ring hauberk (you know, the one that used to have my name on it):

FLATTENED RING MAIL SHIRT

The wire of the butted mail has been flattened into washers to produce a much denser and heavier weave. Weighs 45 1/2 lbs. Neck 91/2". Chest 30" across. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts

It goes retail for $350, I would be interested in a trade (I like the Lewis Moore spaulders I bought), but would you be willing to "sweeten" the deal? (and no, I don't need another pistol).

Let me know, Brother, I can use a new pair of pauldrons (since the ones that someone on this board was suppose to make were never made).
Cheers,

One more question - are they WCJA joust worthy?

You can see what I mean at www.happyproductions.ca

Thanks, Brother!

I am interested. Hmmm? I had one of those heavy shirts. It is really strong but beat me up with the weight doing ground work. I think if I took off the sleeves it would work ok since I am wearing full arms.

I'll take them. I'll pay the asked for price, or if you'd prefer, I'll knit you a sleevless hauberk (I knit good maille, as it happens). Please email me off list to arrange details, or call me at 616-281-6144 asap.

Thanks!

Broadsword- I have struck a deal with Llyod. If for some reason Llyod does not want them I will conatct you straight away to see if you are still in the market.
The sad part is if I ever get back in the saddle again it would be difficult to tilt with Llyod when he is wearing them. That and the fact that he is a very good jouster with tons of exp. ;-)

PS, did you realize the two of you have the same tag line?

yes, I've seen Lloyd joust. He's good. I do ground combat at the Silver Leaf RenaissanceFaire, where he just finished up a three week run. The common tag line must be related to the hobby.

If he ends up not needing them, please give me a call or a private email. I don't check the Armour Archive offten enough to keep track, so I wouldn't likely catch it here very quickly.

Thanks.
Jim

James- Do not worry. I did not think you were ignoring me. We have had good conversing you and I and I knew the real world must be taking up your time. :-) Dont ya just hate it when that happens? Unless of course it was family time. Then no man should ever fault himself for that. I know you and I dont have that problem.
