Rebated steel sword for sale

Post by Halvgrimr »

Greetings all

I have decided to take the plunge and get the grail of all weapons, a Paul Binns sword (a top line model, not an economy blade)

As such I have to get rid of one of my current swords to help offset the costs.
I have a PB econo blade and a Arms & Armor Manufacture (in the Czech Republic) blade.
The Binns is a damn fine weapon and is my favorite, as such the czeck blade is the one to go.

pics of the sword can be seen at http://www.missouri.edu/~rls555/vikes/sword4sale/

I am asking $250 for it
That will include a custom made sheath, a baldric, bronze fittings and shipping (but not insurance) inside NA.
I am dropping it off with Camric/Greenshield/William/Scott in Waco next month to have the sheath custom made for it and will be picking it up on OKC the following month.
The sheath and hanging system will look like the one in the url below http://www.missouri.edu/~rls555/vikes/s ... bard01.jpg

Weapon specs
From the Arms & Armor Manufacture website:

length: 34 1/2"
blade: 28"
fittings steel: DIN Ck 55
blade steel: DIN 54 SiCr 6
fittings steel: DIN Ck 55
grip: 4" (between crossguard and pommel)
guard: 4" balance point: 4" from guard
weight: 2 lb 14 oz

It is tempered spring steel. This sword is incredibly tough, designed for hard use in German re-enactment fight groups and built by the master craftsmen of Arms & Armor Manufacture in the Czech Republic. 2mm rebated (blunt) edges for strength and safety. Intended for sword and armor contact use in film and stage combat, live steel fighting groups, Renaissance Faire entertainment, SCA dress occasions, all aspects of Western Martial Arts study, and for any serious sword-lover. Hard wood grip, thick full tang hilt construction with peened-on pommel.

I will mention that it has a very small wobble in the handle that has only appeared recently (ie after 3 yrs of fighting with it as my prmary weapon).
There are no major nicks in the edge and it has been (and will be upon purchase) polished, the edges filed, and oiled on a regular basis.

If for some reason someone wants it without the sheath I will take $190 for it.

I will be taking bids unitl April 10th

Halv

Ps..please note that this sale has nothing to do with the online auction for TFBO that starts later this week!!!!
