Anyone have a 1' x 3' piece of veg tanned leather 4 oz. (or lighter) piece of leather they'd like to sell me? I've been around to a few places here and they wanna' sell me a whole shoulder or side and my wife is nixing me buying a whole cow, so I thought I'd ask here. I am trying to re-do my Mainz gladius scabbard. I'd take smaller pieces if anyone has some?

I still need to check the place down town, Landwerlen. But I dunno's if they sell leather cuts or if I have to buy a whole side there too.

Landwerlans has a "scrap" bin. Over the years, I've made two "viking" belt's using such scraps. 8-10 oz? 10-12? 12-14?, they have it all. Gotta dig a little. Or sew two together, but it's doable. If you don't mind the drive, I have a leather wholesaler in Boston Indiana, (central eastern border) that I buy from. Discount for business license.

Yeah, Landwerlen is about 15 minutes north of me. I should check 'em out. I already have a mainz scabbard, but am experimenting with some different plate reconstructions, and am short on leather. I played with the idea of using wool or linen, but I may as well go with leather for these extra scabbards.
Also, someone local to me said they might have what I'm looking for. An SCA member who is also my neighbor! Go figure, ask the world, and the fellow around the corner has just what you're looking for!
