Any Armstrong Clan members on the AA?

Post by Dave Womble »

When I went to Scotland 10 years ago, I was really into my heritage on Grandmas side, and while I was there, I bought a really nice clan plaque. I'm looking to sell it though, as I dont think I can (or should) rightly display it since it's Grandmas on moms side, and I dont think it makes me part of the clan...maybe, maybe not...in any case, I'm just tired of it...It's been part of a wall display I've had up in my last 4 apartments (fake generic tartan spread, with various celtic medallions, a 1 pound note from the Royal Bank of Scotland, my wallace claymore, dirk, braided lock of my wifes hair, clan book and badge as well as the plaque), and since I've sold the weapons, the rest of the display must go...just tired of looking at it, and basically dont care anymore.

The plaque is solid wood (chestnut I believe), crafted by Woodcarver Scotcrest, an approved manufacturer endorsed by the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs. The plaque is made in Scotland, and features the Clans crest and motto, on a background of the Armstrong tartan.

There is some damage to the symbol, the arm is cracked at the elbow and the hand is cracked at the wrist, and the thumb has a tiny bit of scuffing on it...I didnt even notice it until I just took it down to write up this post...it looks as if it happened at some point when the plaque fell off the wall. Dammit. Well, in any case, they're pretty pricey (around $50-$60).

I'll also include a 33 page booklet on Clan Armstrong and a clan crest badge/pin...not sure what its made of...could be die cast, could be pewter.

$30 + postage gets you all three.
