OK here we go... I am a BIG guy and I want and arming cote that matches my period ( circa 1335-1347) I have had several close matches but nothing exactly correct. Many sempstresses( Laurels included) ahve been known to blanch and faint at the thought of sewing clothes for me. HELP!!

What would you charge? What pattern would you suggest?

I too am a large fighter and have the same issues. May I point in the Direction of a Lord and a Lady in the New Canton of Sudentore in VA. His Name is Lord Olaf Wulfbrandt, and hers Is Lady Katheryne D Anjou, She is an exceptional seamstress and has quite a bit of experiece with garbing 14th century fighters that are larger than usual.

Talk to Mistress Clare de Crecy (Tracy Justus). Seriously. She made my 15c gambeson (she normally does 14c, but modified it for me) and turned it around fast. Ask Sir Bryce or Duke Ragnarr about contacting her. (Mental note: call Clare this summer about making me another one to have for a spare.) I don't know what her current prices are. IIRC, I provided the materials, and she charged me around $90-ish.

Also, Lord Olaf used to be my man-at-arms. Feel free to contact me about him or his lady wife.

How tall are you? I made it for myself and the sleeves are a tiny bit too short.

It is red cotton apholstery velvet lined in silk,.

I'm 5'10" and about 450#

I'm about 6 and a little under 375-400

He is a Polish vendor that makes great aketons, arming coats, jack, etc and each one is made to order.

I have two of his aketons so far and we have 6 or in my LH group.

We have been very pleased with his work, most coats have cost us about $180.00 delivered to Alaska.
