Dark Age helm books

Post by Halvgrimr »

In the old topic

http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... t=dark+age

several of you expressed interest in a copy of the book.

I am now ready to sell these but only in batches of 3 or 4 at a time (as I get them)

As I said in the thread mentioned above, I contacted the author and got permission to make more copies but he wants a cut so I have to raise the price a little.

They are going for $35, which includes shipping in the ConUS.

So that no one thinks I am racking in the dough on this deal here is the break down

The author gets 10% of each sale so that $3.5 off the top

They cost me $16 a piece to get photocopied

It costs me $4 each to bind/cover

And its $4 to ship (anywhere in the US)

So I make a whooping $7.50 of each deal (proceeds to go to our event this fall).

I prefer PayPal but will take cash, money order or checks. UPDATE: If you pay via paypal please include $1.50 to cover their pimp fee!

Shipping will depend on payment method.

If you pay with cash or money order, it will ship as soon as I get the cash/mo in hand

If you pay with a check, it will ship when the check clears

If you pay with pay with PayPal it will ship ASAP.

Let me know if you’re still interested, its a first come..first serve thing.

I have 3 on my desk right now, first 3 responses gets them.
When I get a few more in a few days, I will post a heads up, first 3-4 to reply gets those 3-4 and so on.

It wasnt quite what I was expecting, it's more of a report/paper than an actual book...but it does have a lot of info and drawings/diagrams etc that are very useful.

It's a decent addition to my Migration/Viking period library.

Its a thesis on extant dark age helms by a fellow reenactor.
The images I posted were photo copies
I explained that half the cost was copy costs at Kinkos.

I would be willing to accept return of it if you arent happy.

No, it's ok Halv...I'm keeping it...it'll get more use and appreciation as I get older and begin to actually make things...I'm an apartment dweller right now with children and animals, so space is limited, and I'm also the domestic one while my wife persues her teaching career and Mary Kay business on the side...so I have no time to dabble in metal pounding....but a few years down the line, when I'm all ready to go, I'll have a great library to go on.
