coronets

Post by Winterborne »

My lady and I are in the market for coronets. We are Court Baron (ess)s after a wonderful, long stint as the Landed variety. I am wondering if any of the great metal artisans on this list either make coronets or have recommendations of others who do. We have a decent budget for the project and really want something nice.

We have some ideas, and are looking at examples of hinged coronets with panels, probably done as castings. We are open to other ideas.

Reply here or our email address - gailscott@eos.net

Thanks!

Congratulations on your retirement, how long was your 'sentence'? ;-)

May you look back with fondness on your term. :D

Some very nice ones can be found here:

My favorite coronets are made by Duke John here in Caid (aka Jason Williams, Chairman of the BOD, but I don't hold that against him).

If you can't find someone closer to home (fittings are nice) I can put you in touch with him.

WARNING, I'm not sure if this pic is actually John's work or his teacher, Mistress Ygraine's, but it is representative of the style he works in. (If you want to see some that are definitely his work, look at the Caidan crowns here: http://www.sca-caid.org/royals/crowns.html.)

I'm not sure what his web site is, but Sir Lothar von Drachenstein of the Midrealm does nice work. You can see if he has a web listing on the Gulf Wars merchant listing.

I've made a few coronets, including most recently the Northshield crowns. Pics of thse crowns and other (much less complicated pieces) are available at http://www.cs.ndsu.nodak.edu/~malarkey/ ... index.html
