Brass Needed, or Bronze

Post by Primvs Pavlvs »

I need two pieces roughly 10 inches square 16, or 18 gauge. I would prefer 18 gauge. I know all the suppliers out there, but I dont want to have to buy a larger piece than I need for this project.

Thanks

Don't forget door kickplates from the normal hardware store or construction salvage. Not exactly the size you mentioned...but I thought I'd pipe in...

Ahh!

I misread for a moment, thinking you were looking for brass or bronze maille. I had thoughts of maybe being able to unload a bronze (I think it was,) camail that was about 15 sizes to small for me! :)

LOL, glad I could help. I just beat Broadway to it cause it's the helpful suggestion he has oft made in the past.

McMaster-Carr will sell it in 12"X12" sheets, many gages to choose from, brass bronze or copper

I like the bronze for it's rich dark patina.

No, I don't work for these guys....

Unfortunately, the new ones you can buy around here are mostly made out of "brass accent" anodized aluminum, so salvage dealers are probably the better bet.
