Paging Master Knuut
Paging Master Knuut
I've emailed regarding the maille shirt I received recently, and have had no response. It doesn't remotely fit and I think I may have one that belongs to someone else.
At least, I hope I do, because otherwise the one I have needs quite a bit of work before I can use it.
I would appreciate it if you would respond to my email with a FedEx return authorization.
Thank you,
-R.

It's too little. I can't tell you how much, because I can't get the thing on over my shoulders. I did measure it and found that the chest, just under the shoulders, can be stretched to no more than 44"
I sent him a measurement of 45 1/2" and that's just me, without any room to move.
Does it sound like yours?

Is it a shirt or hauberk? I have been waiting on mine for a while, and I have a 41 inch chest.
Master Knuut, if that one is not mine, could you please email me with a new estimated time of completion.
rpdufrene@cox.net is the best email for me. Or PM me on the AA.

The monkey must come out!
I would call this one a hauberk - not a shirt. It's probably about knee-length, and split up the middle, like a hauberk. It would probably go over a 41 inch chest. It will certainly not go over mine.
I'm sending it back today, in the hopes that either it can be exchanged for mine, or fixed, or I'll want my money refunded.
You might want to (attempt to) contact Master Knuut on your own, and see if this is how the switch happened. This needs to be fixed. We're talking about too much money to just be a nice guy and forget about - also, I can't fight until I get my actual shirt.
All the best.

I recall seeing a recent post from Master Knuut reguarding him being out of internet contact for 2-3 weeks. That would be about a week ago. I don't think he's ignoring anyone, just out of access.

Sigh. The saga continues, and it's getting pretty sad.
In early March I sent a goodly sum of money to Master Knuut for my Basic Shirt. Instead of receiving it, I received the too-small hauberk referenced above. I made several attempts to contact Knuut and received no reply. In these messages I said that I thought that I had received someone else's order, because it certainly could not be mine.
Eventually I decided that it was time for action and repackaged the hauberk for return. In the UPS office I was told that the return address could not be verified and was there any way I could contact the recipient?
Aha! Yes, there was. On the FedEx label was a phone number. I called and - surprise, surprise! - was talking to Master Knuut himself. He told me that I had been correct in my guess regardng the hauberk and it indeed belonged to someone else. If I would send it back he would get it to the proper person.
Regarding my own shirt, however...well...he was about to take a trip to Sai Gon to visit family and talk with them about some problems with their end of the business. But immediately upon his return he would finish my shirt - it was already on the bench and the shoulders were finished - and it would be the next project sent out, certainly no later than the second week of April. I considered the matter completed.
You can see where this is going, can't you? We're about to enter the second week of May, I still don't have the shirt, I still don't have any response to any requests I've made about where it might be...and I'm almost entirely bereft of interest in ever owning the thing.
Be that is it may, I paid actual money for this thing and I don't have it. So, if at the end of the day Monday I still don't have it, on Tuesday I will initiate proceedings to enforce the return of my money.
If you know how to contact Master Knuut (I no longer do) would you please advise him to PM me on this website? Thank you.

Oooooh-kay. What's going on?
The guy whose hauberk was shipped to me tells me that Knuut tells him that said hauberk was going to be cut up and turned into my shirt becaus I'd already paid him. WTF? At the same time I was holding the box with the too-small hauberk I was on the phone with Knuut - who told me that the shoulders of my shirt were done and it just had to be finished and shipped.
That was two months ago. Knuut's had my money since March. I'm on duty this week, which is why there have been no legal proceedings initiated, but soon I will have the armor or the money.

I hope so too. I want to order a TI aventail, but posts like this make me wary of dealing online with people.
