another pair of Clay's fantastic finger gauntlets have gone up on ebay (posts here at Celtic Warrior). These have had amazing reviews here on the archive and if I didn't have him working on a custom set for me I would jump on these... to be honest I was REAL close to buying these to use in the interim until my custom ones are done... but I don't like sleeping on the couch
someone grab them quick... it will be at least three of four days until he gets another set up!

This guy is a true gem of the armorers art.
He makes it for love of craft, chrges a fair and decent price and his service is top notch.
I've fought in his finger gauntlets, and I've taken some harsh shots on the fingers and they are FAR superior to the hockey glove standard. I fight primarily with a polearm at grill to grill distance and have gotten some good whacks on the fingers with no problems.
He's A+.
but I don't like sleeping on the couch
Do what I did.....buy the wife a pair too and all is good!
alright you people waited to long and I just bought them
these will be up for sale used once I get my custom ones but in the mean time I couldn't resist temptation any longer!!!

unfortunately the wife don't fight... which means she don't get how I can drop this kind of money on armor.... even while spending the same on clothing
happy Easter

I waited two days.... these usually go in two hours!!!!!!
if I decide not to be greedy and let these go once my new toys are done you got first dibs.... but only if you and your lovely wife come to Pennsic this year

how are the boys?

These are wonderful gauntlets, and I hope to get some myself someday... I actually came in to ask a question of Leo's comment. He said:

I'd like to ask which armorer, for the time and skill they put into fingered gauntlets, is not charging a fair amount? I know I wouldn't want to make them.

And it's my fault I was busy doing stuff instead of checking the Archive all weekend? *g* Except for my WWJD thread, cuz that's important, like

*sigh* Nope. Every other year and we went last year. She wants a real vacation; we'll probably be out that way June-ish to visit family and make the rounds, I'll let you know.

They're doing well. Baxter's aging fast but doing OK, Riley's as hyper as ever and we have a female Rottie going on 2 now who's cost me a small fortune in knee surgery but is a sweetheart.
Clay is always the professional. We've been communicating for months on the custom set of gauntlets he's doing for me and he's been great. I bought these and shot him and email late last night that I hope to have them this weekend for AEthelmearc coronation.... about lunch time he emailed me a tracking number.
I'll make sure I get pictures this weekend. I don't know if I'll get them early enough to have time to pad them before this weekend so I probably won't fight in them this weekend but..... they're gonna LOOK cool as hell!

glad the boys are good... the misses asks me every now and then if I've heard from you and how they're doing. I knew you guys were doing every other Pennsic... just couldn't remember if you made it last year or not?!?!?!? Hell, I can't remember January much less last Pennsic
I'll get pictures and a review up this weekend when I get back

I am glad they arrived safely and that you like them. If I can get the time to work out the details with your custom set I think they are going to make the wisbys look like loaner armor. The tips are giving me fits and I have several ideas about what I want to do to them but I think it will be well worth it to keep trying and get them right.
I can type with mine on as well.... problem is my employees were walking past my office and stopping to stair. Not good to distract your peeps when you're trying to get them to meet a deadline
Of course they've now seen two different helmets, arms, gauntlets, a crossbow and tomorrow greaves come through my office... plus a picture of me in the news taken at one of our demos hung up in the lunch room for weeks.... they all think I'm a little unstable!
