I have worn them to a few practices and Atlantian Crown Tourney this past weekend. I don't believe that I have taken a direct hit to the knee yet. Of course knees aren't legal targets, so this is a good thing, but I haven't had a chance to validate how safe they are.
They have passed an armour inspection, and they do meet the SCA's requirement for "rigid" material, but I would like to wear them for another month or two before I endorse them and sell them with my other armours.

I may have to throw myself on the ground and have a tantrum.
But, it's important to be safe, so I'll try to hold on.

Sir Justus,
Yes those were the knees I was wearing at Saphire. The shape actually needs a bit of tweaking I think. The dish is deep enough, but there should be a touch more curve, especially along the sides to help with rigidity.
This first pair do meet the SCA's minimum "rigid material" requirements, but I want to play with them a bit longer before I feel safe in them. The front of the cop has taken a few accidental direct blows and with the padding they were adequate. It still hurt, and left a bruise...but I have had that happen with steel knees as well.
I thnk a little more tweeking on the shape and I will have a product I can offer for sale to others.
I really appriciate everyone's kind comments. It really makes me feel good, but I am very critical of the safety of the armour I sell, and I would be torn up if any of my clients were to get hurt due to an armour safety issue.
