Anyone use these or stuff like this.

Post by Damon »

I am looking at picking these up

http://www.mountainboardshop.com/hockeyshorts.html

I would wear them under a Dalmatica. I had tried hockey shorts in the past like what hockey players use and found them to be way to bulky for my tastes. These are supposed to be low profile I was just wandering if anyone had any experience with these or any low profile shorts like them.

Links and advice would be greatly appreciated.

padded shorts

Post by Laz »

I have a pair of padded shorts that I haven't worn yet. But they look just like these ones. I don't have uppers on my legs so I'm looking forward to knowing how these work out.

I wear these from Crash Pads.

They take a bit off the shot. I haven't gotten a bruse in the areas it covers since I got them.

I wear mountain bike shorts similar to these:

which are fantastic - they don't take everything off every shot, but they take enough for me to fight pole all day long. I got mine for 20 bucks, so you can definitely find this kind of thing for cheap.

I was thinking about going with those crash pads I know some guys around here who use them and love them. Those hockey shorts are also crash pads and supposed to be low profile. I like the additional hip and tailbone protection they have.

How do the sizes run on these? Are they like Hockey gear which I have found required buying 2 sizes bigger then you should actually need to make them fit.

Eyvandr,

I found mine to actually run quite large. I wear 34" waist jeans, and the padded shorts i wear are supposedly for 28"-30", and they have about 2 inches to spare.
