Raw silk for sale



New, first quality raw silk
45" wide
$5 per yard (the price I paid for it)

$125 for 1-25 yard roll blood red (first bath alizarin or cochineal)
$135 for 1-27 yard roll yellow green (colour matched to first bath nettles mordanted with iron or weld with iron and alum mordant)


I bought this fabric in a burst of inspiration and because the price was so good. Since the purchase I've decided not to offer silk garments, so it's just languishing here. It needs a good home with someone who wants to make matching garments for a family, household or group.

Pieces are each on a roll so there are no lines or creases. I've made several gowns and doublets with the other roll of red I bought, so I can tell you it makes up beautifully. There is nothing wrong with fabric beyond being an unwise purchase on my part.
