Help identifying armour

Post by Glaukos the Athenian »

Greetings,

Ok, this is the armour I have thus far. It consists of a quasi-churburg breastplate and a set of spaulders made to attach to it.

The breastplate feels like a TIGER II tank. It is strainless with brass trimming, and despite the Churburg appearance, the frontal section is made out of a single piece, the brass in front being decorative.

This SHOULD be an uncomfortable piece to wear, however for some reason the amrourer put such wise angles and shapes, that it feels barely heavier than my front-only DO breastplate from Kendo. It feels feather light once on. I would guess this is 12 or 14 gauge stainless.
The back is attached by a set of pins that fit on cylinders, and two sets of straps.

The spaulders look gothic (slightly anachronistic but curiosly they do not clash with the breast-piece) and are stainless as well. They strap to the shoulders of the breastplate on the top and to the biceps.

Does anyone recognize the maker? I am very curious. I bought it through EBay from an gentleman in Tx who described himself as an "old knight" who could not longer do heavt fighting and hoped I would follow his honorable steps. I am hoping to do just that. (and without bruises on my ribs!)

Rowan

You wouldn't believe how many armor laurels there are in this kingdom...
Im sure some of them only make about 5 suits their entire lives.
Having said that it could be a production piece, but Im just throwing out the option it could be a relative unknown.
Emailed the ebay seller to ask?
