Traditional drinking "jack" made from heavy vegetable tanned tooling leather. Wet shaped, tooled, hand stitched and dyed medium brown. Exterior hand rubbed wax finish. Interior lined with food grade vegetable wax, impervious to water, beer, wine, hard liquor. No beeswax smell or taste.
Approximately 750ml volume, holds two bottles of beer with room to spare.

NOT for Hot drinks!

Client requested a smaller one.

Yes, a very inspirational place, isn't it? I must make some little costrels even if no one else wants one. Just big enough to carry around some fine scotch, eh?

I use shearling pads to apply two coats of Feibing Leather Balm with Atom wax to finish dressy items, hand rubbed after each coat dries. This finish isn't waterproof like the interior so it can't be dunked in a bucket like a black jack. Two coats well rubbed, seem to resist water spilled on it.

My jack is in service twice a week at practice. Just a quick rinse with water and shaken out before returning to the shelf. No special maintainance required. Its a functional item but not suitable for heavy daily use in a tavern.... You'd want a black jack there.
