WTB off the shelf tunic

Post by audax »

Greetings all,

I need a tunic by the 16th and wish to just buy one of the rack. Any recommendations besides the obvious ones to HE and Revival? I found these folks http://www.mysticum.de/Male-clothing/Tu ... linen.html Anyone ever have any dealings with them? I've also looked at Garb the World and a couple other places but I'd like some input first.

Thanks,

audax

Right now I have two sized XL-XXL (46-52) one is a light green linen, the other purple wool.

they are 4-gored tunics (gores at front and side) with the center gores inset (IE there is no center seam on the body)

I'll take 65 dollars for each of them, plus $4 shipping (priority) because I need the cash for the holidays.

Audax,

I have used Garb the World before, If you want fast and inexpensive they are really good at getting you the stuff even if you customize it some with trim and stuff. I would avoid neck trim however if I use them again because asthetically I didn't like the way they went around corners with the trim. Hems and sleaves however were great. Also they don't deal in linen so it is mostly cotton blends. I would say they are good for fighting wear and good newbie - wear.

I found this awhile ago and one of my students got one of their tunics.

They are really nice, however if you dont want machine stitching to show, I would not suggest them. Also, make sure the edging they put on some of them are not shiny because they are realllly shiny and not too realistic. Other than that, I really like them and so does he. Plus, the prices are really good.

Garb the World is fast and cheap. I bought 4 tunics from them. You just have to let them know its for fighting in and needs to be extra thick.
I wanna say they were like $35

Dang, those are just too big for me or I'd grab up the green one.

Thanks for the Garb the World recs. Sounds like my best bet for a quick, cheap tunic.

I love my tunic.
An Archive member made it for me.
It is way to big... but I love it anyway.

It is real wool and has hand stiching and embroirdy.
It makes me feel like a Viking when I wear it.

Best of luck on your tunic.

Hal
