This has been a good year and I'm feeling grateful for all the work. There's been a lot of chatter about early 14th C. stuff on these boards lately, so I thought I'd put this garment on special as a bit of a thank you.

Mid length tunics with full slit skirts populate late 13th and early 14th marginalia as well as the pages of several prominent manuscripts such as the Maciejowski Bible (lower image), I.33 Fechtbuch, Manessa Codex, and Luttrell Psalter.

Cut to produce the fluid drape on the body as well as the distinctive pointed hem seen in these manuscripts.

The sleeves are fitted to the forearm, flaring to generous proportions on the upper arm and armhole. This copies the shape seen in the manuscripts as well as allowing maximum mobility with no loose fabric on the forearm which could catch a sword blade. The wrist closes with a small round button.

This is a generously sized garment
