Actually I have a 4 ton Benchmaster Punch Press. I can churn out 600 scale an hour

Must faster and more efficient than a clicker for scales. That is what I was hoping to get for making metal scales. But that is something that has to wait for another day.

I can't figure out if I like that the edges seem to be unfinished, or not. Sort of outlines the individual scales, where they might otherwise be lost into a nondescript black blob. Also sort of makes my eyes go buggy.

Aha! You have discovered the master plan of the Torvaldr scale armor. Your opponent goes buggy eyed seeing the edges and then you whop him!
Actually the scales are stained and hardened in strips and then punched out. It is possible to go back and stain the edges IF it really bothers you, but I find that most people, myself included, like having that little bit of contrast. And it also does not stand out nearly so much in person as it does occasionally in a picture.
Take a look at this one. Its edges are the same.
So is this one.

Hi Torvald,
You've seen me before. Would it fit me, with a gambeson?
The "loaner kit" I have needs body armour. And I'll be wearing that loaner kit for almost two years while my spring-steel suit is being made.
