russian gear

If you are needing a rifle. Look at Aztec International on the net.
http://www.aztecguns.com/
these guns were refurbished after the war. Excellent and cheap! If you have your C&R license if not pay a pawn shop $25 to transfer to you. Great guns to shoot. I believe everything comes with matching serial #'s includeing bayonets. Also came with sling and oiler. Live ammo here in MS can be got for $2.23 a box of 20.
Hope it helps...by the way any archivers that want a good dear gun..these are excellent and cheap...they do have a nice kick to em...LOL!

Thanks for the bit about the rifles!

I have two 91/30 rifles in almost pristine condition that I bought about two years ago for something like $60 a pop (this included 10 bucks select)

They were covered with some nasty brown cosmoline and needed a light refinishing, but after cleaned and oiled they looked like museum pieces.

Not bad

Dude, you have no idea. That's just my Russian WWII stuff.

We have a huge basement. I have maybe 60 boxes and 20+ feet of stuff on hangers. I started Yestergear.com to sell it all but have been too busy to build and develop the website. But someday...

Cheers,

I bought my mosin nagant for 50 bucks at the pawn shop. it is in near pristine shape. I went to the local Army navy store and bought 500 rounds for it for 40 bucks. it is worth far more than i paid in quality.

Agnarr,

That is an understatement. Except for the ammo, which I have not bought in a while and you paid a great price.

All of these rifles would cost much more if made today. I have a german-made argentine 1909 Mauser that would not cost less than 2 grand to have made today with the detail of labor and polishing of pre WWI German labor.

My 91/30s are one from 1939 and the other 1938, good pre-war soviet manufacture. I never had the chance to spend the time to zero them properly, but from a rest, at 100 yards I was putting every shot within a 4 inch circle (true, it was about 3 inches high and to the right) with iron sights. How much more can you ask of a "beater" surplus gun made almost 70 years before?

Once you get familiar with the idisyncrasies of the action, they bacome features, not bugs.

An awesome value for a gun.

Rowan

I am going to withdraw the rifle from sale. It's just not worth the hassle to send it out of state considering how little I would be compensated. And as many have stated, there are plenty of sources to get good ones.

Chello!

That's a lot of kit, Tim, lol! You wouldn't happen to have a spare Sz. 2 (non-Czech) helmet gathering dust would you? ;)

Personally, I own 3 91/30 ( 1x 1943, 2 x 1944), 1 M44 (1944), I M38 (1944). I need another M44 & M38! :)
