My only suggestion is a very rigid breastplate, and a scutum.

You just don't want a pike to get you in the belly.

Well... points for realism I suppose.

Honestly I'm wondering how you'd do it, a good globose is the only thing I can think of, and even then I'm thinking it's too high up. Tonlet perhaps with some sort of modified interior?
