Pattens Who makes them? who has Patterns for them?

Post by newfghtr »

Getting a bug to upgrade the soft kit a bit,and want to be able to protect
the investment of Boots and or shoes. From what I have seen or read Pattens is the way to go and be making positive steps.

So......... Who makes them or where could a pattern be found?

:D

We made a set for my wife's turnshoes.

Basically, we just took some 1X wood, drew out her foot, and evened out the curves. Cut out the shape, then cut it across where the ball of her foot would be. Shaved that area down so we could put a leather "hinge" there and placed some straps that would go over her foot and around her heel.

Problem solved. I'll try to get a picture of them up in the next day or so.

Erm.. "shoes and pattens".. it's a Museum of London book (IIRC).

Has every damn thing you will ever need to know about pattens, and about twice more you don't need to know. :)

I have opinions of my own- strong opinions- but I don't always agree with them.

I've made a few pairs.... They are pretty easy to
make if you have some basic tools...

Shoes and Pattens is a great source for info

The pics Baron Conal posted might as well be pictures of the ones we made for my wife. Pretty much exactly the same thing.
