Sword fitting, WTB: PURCHASED.

Post by Russ Mitchell »

If possible, I'd like to bring a different sabre to Crossroads in Time, but to do that, I'm going to need to get either a plain iron (preferred) or bronze (acceptable) crosspiece.

Should accept a 1/2" by 1/4" tang (yes, it's a rat-tailed tang, I'm refitting/modifying a crap sasqa blade) with a minimum of filework on the blade shoulder. Can pay by credit, but if I'm going to make it happen, I need it FAST. (my flight is Thurs. the 26th).

Again, I am NOT looking for anything fancy, and yes, I'm putting a sword crossguard onto a sabre. That's quite commonplace for Hungary 14c.

Have you checked Valentine's specials page? He often has a lot of sword furniture on there. Maybe he has something that would work for you..

I may do that if I can't find a cheaper alternative: they have a $50 minimum for a $10 piece... but one of those guards does look appropriate. Thanks.

EDIT: no good, the slots on those suckers are huge. I could slide the entire sabre blade through those slots.
