looking for armour

Post by Gottfried »

Greetings all
I have a friend that just got back form deployment in Afghanistan.
He has some Hazard pay that is burning a hole in his pocket.
He wants a full Landsknecht rig (Burgonet, Breastplate with tasets & Backplate, articulated gorget fitting to the Breast & Back) in Spring steel.
Who is up for the job?

Gottfried

P.S. a fairly fast turnaround time would be good to.

well I will tell him but the reason he wanted spring was because it weighs so little. He has been fighting in a plastic til now and says he can't deal with alot more weight than that because of his (badlly) messed up knee, courtesy of the combat engeniers.
About how much would all of that stuff way in Stainles?
The other thing is would it be done before his next deplyment?

We can do it in aircraft aluminum if he wants really light and strong. We may have all of the things he needs right now in stock. I can ship tomorrow. Not to mention that it will be probably be much less expensive than spring steel of the same quality.

Cheers!

Well, it's not light (made of 14 ga. mild), but if he's in a hurry to acquire a kit I have a Burgonet with an interchangeable perf plate and combat grill that I'd be willing to sell.

Gottfried,

Talk to Jiri Klepaç. He did my spring stuff, and Eorl Giles', and He's easy striking distance for fittings etc. If He's busy, he may be able to make some recommendations..

Even though it looks like you have sold it, can you please post a photo?

That's the stock photo from the guy who made it. I looked all over my SD cards and computer, but it turns out I don't actually have any pics of it.

It's primed black on the inside and will fit up to a 24"-25" head with padding. It doesn't quite fit my face as well as I'd like, but it could be quite comfortable with the right padding.

Thank you. I recognize Vis. Karl von Sussen's helm there. How would you review it after using it?

Yup. Although, I haven't used it, which is kind of why I'm selling it. It does seem like it would be quite protective. It's very solidly built and I have no complaints about it.
